MY STANDARD TRADING INFORMATION:
1. As the "normal" amount, please send a want list of 30 albums, with some more albums listed to fill the last CD-R. I am interested in trading even more than 30, if we have compatible lists.
2. Please only send files ripped at 224 kbps or higher, 192 kbps minimum. Let's put to rest the idea that MP3s sound bad compared to MiniDisc, which uses about 286 kbps. This is possible by using inexpensive, spatious CD-Rs rather than the original, modem-oriented paradigm of handling MP3s. Some codecs and settings, with some music, need higher than 192 kbps, to sound good compared to MiniDisc.
3. For the albums which you rip from your CDs, check that the titles appear in WinAmp -- this is the standard player and the titles really should be shown here with artist and song title, before burning to CD-R.
4. Please try to use this pattern for the album directory: Artist - Album
and this pattern for the song filenames: Number - Title.mp3
For example:
Beatles - Rubber Soul
01 - I'm Looking Through You.mp3
02 - Drive My Car.mp3
To do this using Music Match, I leave off the artist name and add it to the directory name manually, to avoid nested directories, to support skimming, for fastest location of albums.
