The Stedman Direct Box. The Stedman reactor circuit eliminates the 9V battery and doesn't add any transistor sound or IC noise to your guitar amp sound. Just connect 1/4" cable to the "external speaker" output of your guitar amp, and plug this unit directly into your mixer using 1/4" or XLR connectors. The internal balanced isolation transformer and ground lift switch eliminates hum. The results will amaze you. One for guitar and one for bass.

Official product page - excerpts:
Stedman GA12 and BA18 Direct Boxes are two easy-to-use direct boxes that employ a unique passive Speaker Reactor circuit without the use of transistors or IC's. The Stedman GA12 Speaker Reactor circuit is a sonic resonant filter that emulates a 12" guitar speaker while the BA18 Speaker Reactor emulates an 18" bass guitar speaker. This design eliminates the need for batteries or phantom power and maintains a direct signal path from instrument amplifier external speaker output to mixer inputs. With the use of an audio balancing transformer, each device is isolated to eliminate ground loop hum problems.Uses include recording and live applications. Made in U.S.A.Check: Effects database
